It's strange to be home again.

It's not as bad as I feared it would be. Mum is obviously going out of her way to coddle me, which is both somewhat embarrassing and rather nice. The twins are being surprisingly reasonable. No pranks at all yet. This must be a record.

I was hoping I would have heard something by now on some of the job leads I was pursuing. I know, I know, I shouldn't be so impatient, but I'll go mad if I'm cooped up here all summer. I still have hopes, though. Felix Abernathy was very encouraging, and I hope that once he hears from Mr Crispin, that will bear some fruit. Of course, it wouldn't be ideal, but it would at least be a foot in the door.

I got an owl today from Max Wentworth. He's already found a job, can you believe it? Working at Gringotts. Not that I have any wish to work with goblins, you understand, but I wouldn't have thought he'd find work so quickly.

I know it must feel like every day without work is as long as a week. But it's early days, yet, Perce. Keep looking and I'm sure the right position will come along.

It's good to hear the others are leaving you alone. Pretty soon Ron will be off with the CCF--at least, I assume he will be. I know he tested fairly well, though of course I haven't heard directly. And then your sister will get her week. It's too bad your mum can't pack them all off for the summer - but like I said, summer will be over before you know it. Then it'll just be you and your mum and dad. That's not so bad, is it?

Oh, hey, I meant to ask you last week: Have you heard from Oliver yet about whether he signed on to Puddlemere or Appleby? I would have thought he'd have made his choice by now.

I miss you, too. And believe me, I'd much rather be living out in the middle of nowhere with all your sibs banging about, in some ways.

The very moment my father saw that I was writing in the journals, he decided he had a load of chores for me. Me, mind. Not Mum. And I get to hear how they only get to go on holiday once a year and how they could use help. Ugh. He could get a domestic if he wanted one - but he's just too cheap, is all.

Sorry. I shouldn't be complaining to you. Morgana knows you could use a domestic or two at the Burrow as well.
